Cyclist killed in Amarillo hit-and-run

AMARILLO, TX – A 28-year-old man was killed in Amarillo on Friday while riding his bicycle, ABC 7 Amarillo reports.  

The accident occurred near the intersection of SW 16th Avenue and Georgia Street around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night. The victim was riding north on Georgia Street when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

The cyclist was transported to a nearby hospital with serve injuries that claimed his life on Monday.

Police are searching for the driver responsible for the crash. They believe the suspect was driving a 2010-2013 white Toyota 4-Runner SR5/Limited. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Amarillo Police Department.
