AMARILLO, TX – A driver was killed after colliding with a semi-truck on Lakeside Drive in Amarillo yesterday afternoon, according to the Amarillo Pioneer.
The crash occurred in the 1800 block of Lakeside Dr, near the I-40 frontage road, at 4:44 p.m., after the 45-year-old driver of a 2016 GMC 2500 reportedly failed to control the speed of his vehicle. He crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler trailer at a high rate of speed.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 18-wheeler’s driver was not hurt in the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
