3-year-old girl and worker killed, driver hurt in rollover crash on Mopac svc rd

AUSTIN, TX – A worker and a 3-year-old girl were killed in a car crash on the Mopac service road on Tuesday morning, according to details provided by KXAN.

The crash happened in the 13100 block of the N Mopac service road, near Scofield Ridge Parkway, at around 10:30 a.m., when a driver ran off the side of the road and then collided with a maintenance worker who was identified as 41-year-old Cesar Ramirez-Hernandez.

The car then crashed into a drainage ditch and flipped over, sustaining heavy damage to the backseat area, where a 3-year-old girl was sitting.

Ramirez-Hernandez and the 3-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for non-critical injuries.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
