Narrative
TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — One person died Monday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash in southwest Austin that left four others seriously hurt.
Austin-Travis County EMS said the fatal wreck occurred at 8847 West U.S. Highway 290, west of South View Road, at around 2:30 p.m.
The circumstances behind the accident were not immediately clear, but three vehicles and five patients were involved. Upon arrival, crews immediately applied life-saving measures onto one of the patients, who was unconscious, but the victim was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Of the four surviving patients, two were rushed by airlift to Dell Seton Medical Center and St. David’s South Austin Medial Center, respectively, with injuries believed to be serious.
EMS also transported two other patients by ambulance to St. David’s South Austin and Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially major injuries.
At this time, no charges have been reported.
