TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — At least two people were critically hurt early Thursday due to a two-car crash on MoPac Expressway in southwest Austin.
The accident happened at the southbound expressway between U.S. Highway 290 and West William Cannon Drive, in the Sunset Valley Marketfair area. It was first reported at about 2:30 a.m.
Austin Police have not released the sequence of events leading up to the crash, but one of the vehicles was occupied by four people, including an undisclosed number of children.
At least two people were said to have suffered critical injuries, but it was unclear whether the other occupants were hurt.
All southbound lanes in the area were closed during the emergency response. By 8:06 a.m., KXAN indicated the scene had been cleared.
