Narrative

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — One person died last Saturday night, March 18, after a pedestrian crash near Lake Walter E. Long in east Austin.

The fatal incident occurred in the 7900 block of Decker Lane at about 7:45 p.m. Austin-Travis County EMS crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to authorities, CPR was already being administered to the pedestrian by the time crews arrived, but the victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Motorists were told to expect part of the road to remain closed as investigators processed the scene.

The circumstances behind the event remain unclear. Austin Police did not say whether any charges were expected to be filed against the driver.
