AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian died on Monday in Austin after at least one vehicle struck them along the interstate near Capital Plaza.

The incident happened early in the morning on the northbound side of I-35 near exit 238B, which is between the Mueller neighborhood and US-290.

Police have not shared many details regarding the accident. They say that one vehicle remained at the scene but that other vehicles may have been involved in the accident.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the pedestrian who was killed in the crash.

Officials closed the northbound lanes of the interstate in the area of the collision while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene. All lanes re-opened by around 11:30 a.m.
