AUSTIN, TX – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 183 in South Austin this morning, according to information from Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash happened between 5412-5524 S U.S. 183 southbound at around 7:48 a.m., when two vehicles collided.
Four people were declared trauma alerts, with one of those victims being taken to St. David’s South for the treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.
The second patient was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
The remaining two victims were brought to the same hospital to receive treatment for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
Drivers were told to expect lengthy traffic delays near the crash scene.
The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
