One killed, two hospitalized in Buda car collision

BUDA, TX – A woman died and two people were hospitalized after two vehicles collided between Buda and Hays this Monday, the Hays Free Press reports.

Police say that the incident involved a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and a 2017 Jeep Cherokee and took place in the 1400 block of FM 967 between Cullen Boulevard and Haleys Way Drive at about 4 p.m.

Briceida Denova Garcia, a 42-year-old woman who was a front-seat passenger in the Hyundai, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 44-year-old Noe Enriquez-Aguilar, was transported to Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle, while a 10-year-old boy was rushed by helicopter to Dell Children’s in Austin.

The driver and passenger of the Jeep, both high school students, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The exact circumstances of the crash remain unclear at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
