AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was severely injured after being hit by a vehicle on Burnet Road on Tuesday morning, according to the Austin Department of Transportation and Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident occurred in the 5800 block of Burnet Road, near Allendale Road and Koenig Lane, at 10:34 a.m., when a vehicle crashed into a pedestrian, knocking them unconscious.
The victim was declared a trauma alert, and authorities had to use CPR on the victim in order to regain a pulse. They were taken to Dell Seton with critical, life-threatening wounds.
The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
Authorities closed the roadway for multiple hours as they investigated. By 12:08 p.m., the collision had been cleared.
