AUSTIN, TX – One person was killed when their vehicle crashed into a tree on Highway 183 early on New Year’s Day, according to information from Austin-Travis County EMS.

The collision happened between 10511-10516 S U.S. 183, just before 6 a.m., when a driver crashed into a tree. The vehicle then burst into flames, with one person trapped inside.
Despite the efforts of crews to put out the fire, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
