Person hospitalized after late-night pin-in crash on FM 973 on NYE

DEL VALLE, TX – One person was sent to the hospital after being involved in a late-night pin-in crash that happened on FM 973 Road on New Year’s Eve, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash occurred in the 1100 block of S FM 973, near Garden Gate Drive, at 11:24 p.m., when two vehicles collided. One person was pinned within the wreckage of their vehicle.

After being extricated from the crash, the pinned victim was declared a trauma alert, then taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center to receive treatment for possibly serious injuries.

Two other people refused treatment at the scene.
