Narrative
AUSTIN, TX – One person died Thursday night when a vehicle struck them along the freeway in North Austin.
The incident happened around 8:37 p.m. along the northbound side of Mopac Expressway, just north of Tudor Boulevard.
Police haven’t shared any details about the accident except to say that a pedestrian died. The victim’s name has not yet been released to the public.
It’s unclear if the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident stopped to render aid and speak with authorities.
Officials closed the northbound lanes of Mopac in the area of the collision while police gathered evidence and crews worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
