1 dead, 1 hurt after driver crashes into bldg while reportedly fleeing Beaumont PD

BEAUMONT, TX – A driver died after they collided with a business while allegedly fleeing the police in Beaumont on Thursday, according to 12 News Now.

The accident happened in the 2300 block of Liberty Avenue at about 3:45 p.m., as Beaumont officials reportedly made a traffic stop while working a criminal investigation.

The driver of a Honda sedan is said to have fled the traffic stop, then crashed into a business.

The driver died at the scene.

A male passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
