1 dead, 3 hurt after hit-and-run commercial vehicle crash near LA state line

ORANGE, TX – One person is dead and three others have been taken to the hospital after the driver of a commercial vehicle struck another car in a hit-and-run crash near the Louisiana state line this morning.

According to 12 News Now, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-10, a few miles from the Louisiana state line, at about 7 a.m. when the reportedly speeding driver of a commercial vehicle crashed into the back of a 2012 Honda car before fleeing the scene.

The driver of the Honda, 34-year-old Mexican resident Pascual Dela-Cruz, and two passengers were taken to a local hospital for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.

A passenger who has yet to be publicly identified died at the scene of the crash.

Authorities are continuing to search for the driver of the commercial vehicle, and they are asking possible witnesses or those with information about the crash to contact them at 936-699-7340.
