BEAUMONT, TX – One person was killed, and multiple others were injured in a crash in Beaumont last week that may have been caused by a speeding teen driver, according to 12 News Now.
The accident happened near the intersection of N. 11th Street and the I-10 service road on Thursday afternoon.
The 16-year-old driver of a maroon Dodge pickup truck was reported traveling at a high rate of speed when he ran a traffic light. He collided with the passenger side of a silver Chevrolet HHR SUV, which was pushed into the opposite lanes in the impact.
A black Ford pickup truck and a gold Chevrolet Equinox then collided with the SUV.
An occupant of the HHR, 51-year-old Beaumont resident Aleida Tovias Rios, died due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Four other people sustained minor wounds.
