28-year-old man fatally struck by car while riding bike in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, TX – A 28-year-old bicyclist was killed during a collision on the Eastex Freeway in Beaumont earlier this week, according to 12 News Now.

The crash occurred in the 8000 block of Eastex Freeway (Hwy 69) at about midnight Monday night, as 28-year-old Beaumont man Herman L. Alexander was riding his bike along the roadway. He then was struck by a vehicle that was traveling in the same direction.

It is unclear at this point if the driver remained at the scene of the collision after the crash.

Alexander was taken to the hospital in Beaumont, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
