3-year-old dead, multiple injured in crash on Cardinal Dr in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, TX – A 3-year-old was killed, and multiple people were injured following an accident on East Cardinal Drive in Beaumont on Friday night, according to 12 News Now.

The crash happened near the MLK Jr. Parkway at about 7 p.m., as a driver lost control of her vehicle while allegedly driving at a high speed.

She crashed into a person changing their tire near the side of the roadway.

A 3-year-old passenger, who was likely not restrained in a child seat, died at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered a broken arm.

The driver was taken to the hospital for the treatment of undisclosed wounds.

Multiple other passengers received minor injuries in the crash.

Authorities reminded drivers to keep children in a child restraint while driving.
