40-year-old man dead after ATV rollover accident in Jasper County

JASPER, TX (JASPER COUNTY) – A man died Sunday of injuries he sustained during an ATV rollover accident in Jasper County on Christmas Eve, according to 12 News Now.

The accident happened in Jasper, at Parker Street and Chris Street at about 8:15 p.m., as 40-year-old Jasper man Sedric Spikes, operating a 2020 H’Sun Tactic 750 ATV, was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.

He attempted to make a right turn, causing the ATV to roll over an undisclosed number of times. Spikes was ejected from the vehicle and then taken to the hospital, where he on Sunday, at 1 p.m., succumbed to his injuries.

No other people were reported as injured during the accident.

Spikes was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
