40-year-old woman killed in NW Beaumont pedestrian crash

BEAUMONT, TX – A 40-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car in northwest Beaumont Wednesday night, according to a press release published by the Beaumont Police Department.

The accident happened in the 6100 block of N Major Dr, near Pindo Circle, just after 9:30 p.m. when 40-year-old Ashley Simon, of Beaumont, was struck by a vehicle near the northbound lane of the roadway. She died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, who was not publicly identified, stopped and remained at the scene after the accident.

Police did not reveal the possible circumstances surrounding the accident, but did state that the investigation is ongoing at this time.
