SILSBEE, TX (HARDIN COUNTY) – A motorcyclist from Beaumont was killed after colliding with another driver in a hit-and-run accident in Hardin County last night.
According to the Port Arthur News, the accident happened on FM-92, about seven miles north of the town of Silsbee, around 8 p.m. when the driver of a 1998 Chevrolet crossed over the middle line and into the lane of oncoming traffic.
The Chevrolet, driven by 53-year-old Spurger man Jerry Sangwin, then collided head-on with a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle. Sangwin then fled the scene but was located later by authorities.
The motorcyclist, 61-year-old Mark Randall Wallace, died at the scene of the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
