Elderly Louisiana woman killed in crash with SUV at Beaumont intersection

FANNETT, TX (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – An elderly woman from Louisiana was killed in a collision west of Beaumont on Tuesday evening, according to 12 News Now.

The accident occurred near the intersection of I-10 and FM 365 at about 5:45 p.m., when 76-year-old Celsa Delrio Huebel, operating a 2006 Pontiac, reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign.

The 28-year-old driver of a 2017 Chevrolet SUV then collided with the driver’s-side door of the Pontiac.

Huebel, from Iowa, Louisiana, died at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a woman from Beaumont, and her two young passengers were not injured in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
