Florida man hit and killed in Jefferson Co. while walking across I-10

FANNETT, TX (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – A man from Florida walking along I-10 was killed after he was hit by a car in Jefferson County late Monday night, according to a press release published by the Orange Leader.

The accident happened at about 10:45 p.m. near Fannett, which is located about 15 miles southwest of Beaumont, near mile marker 839 of I-10.

A pedestrian, 39-year-old Florida man Richard Touchton, was walking on the highway when he was hit by a 34-year-old Vidor resident operating a 2017 Nissan SUV.

Touchton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

No other injuries were reported.
