Malfunctioning crossing arms may have played role in Orange train crash

ORANGE, TX – A woman escaped serious injury after a train accident that may have involved malfunctioning railroad crossing arms in Orange this afternoon.

According to 12 News Now, the accident occurred near the intersection of Cordrey Avenue and Bob Hall Road at about 3 p.m., when a woman drove up to the railroad tracks.

She was unable to notice the train in time, and her vehicle was struck before she could escape.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where she is expected to be okay.

According to the family of the victim, the crossing arms had not been in proper working order for much of the day.

Authorities are investigating the accident at this time.
