Motorcyclist killed after rear-ending vehicle in Orange County

MAURICEVILLE, TX (ORANGE COUNTY) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Mauriceville, located northeast of Beaumont, this afternoon, according to the Laredo Morning Times.

The accident happened near the intersection of SH 62 and SH 12 at about 3 p.m. when a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle rear-ended a 2012 Ford car that was stopped for traffic.

The victim, 63-year-old Seabrook man Gregory Loy Maze, died at the scene.

Maze was reportedly speeding when the crash occurred.

The occupants of the Ford, one of which was a 5-year-old boy, were not reported as hurt. Their identities have not yet been released.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
