No injuries reported after pickup rear-ends school bus with students inside

WINNIE, TX – No injuries were reported after a Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District bus was rear-ended by a pickup truck in Winnie on Tuesday morning, according to 12 News Now.

The accident occurred on Highway 73 after a white pickup truck towing a trailer collided with the rear of the school bus, which was transporting children at the time.

After colliding with the bus, the truck then went off the right side of the roadway and into the shoulder. Photos of the pickup showed smoke coming from its heavily damaged front end.

No serious injuries have been reported at this time, and the children were able to make it to their classes later in the day.

There is no word at this time as to what caused the crash.
