One dead, one injured in speeding-related crash in Vidor

VIDOR, TX – One person was killed and another was injured during a crash north of Vidor early yesterday that was reportedly related to speeding, according to 12 News Now.

The accident happened on W Circle Drive at about 2:30 a.m., as the driver of a 2019 Dodge pickup truck, 38-year-old Hamshire man Dallas Hemmenway, was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.

He lost control of the vehicle, and it went off the right side of the roadway before colliding with multiple trees.

Hemmenway and a passenger, 43-year-old Hamshire resident Tyra Hemmenway, were ejected from the pickup truck in the process.

Tyra Hemmenway died at the scene.

Dallas Hemmenway was taken to the hospital in Beaumont for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
