ORANGE, TX (ORANGE COUNTY) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles in an accident in Orange County last night, according to KBMT.
The accident occurred on eastbound I-10, near Simmons Drive and the Louisiana state line, at about 7:45 p.m., when a female pedestrian on the highway was struck by the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck.
She was then hit by multiple other vehicles, which have yet to be publicly identified by authorities.
The victim died of injuries sustained during the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and has reportedly cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of the highway for multiple hours for the cleanup and investigation of the collision.
