Substitute teacher walking dog killed by hit-and-run driver in Bridge City

BRIDGE CITY, TX – A substitute teacher who was walking her dog was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Bridge City this weekend, according to 12 News Now.

The accident occurred in the 400 block of Jones Street at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, as 40-year-old Tiffany Handley was taking a walk with her dog.

She was struck by a driver who was operating what authorities believe to be a silver Toyota Tundra. The driver then fled the scene.

Handley was killed as a result of the crash.

Authorities have since located a person of interest and the suspect vehicle. Their identity was not immediately released.
