Teen and 2 adults dead, child critically injured in alleged DUI crash in Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR, TX – Three people, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed, and a young child was injured in an alleged drunk-driving crash on Highway 82 in Port Arthur on Thursday.

According to 12 News Now, the crash happened in the 2600 block of State Highway 82, near the Valero Refinery, at about 7:35 p.m., when the driver of a Dodge truck crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a car, causing it to overturn.

Three occupants of the car, a 13-year-old girl, 32-year-old Danny Nichols Jr., and 35-year-old Lamberia McDaniel, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A young child in the same vehicle sustained critical injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, 25-year-old Nacogdoches resident Chance Glynn Craddock, admitted to drug and alcohol use before driving. He was taken to the hospital for the treatment of undisclosed injuries. There, he received a blood draw warrant.

He is facing three charges of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.

He is not eligible for bond.

According to the report, Craddock has a previous criminal history in other parts of Texas.
