VIDOR, TX – A truck driver was killed in Vidor yesterday after being rear-ended by the driver of another 18-wheeler, according to News4SanAntonio.
The accident happened on I-10 W at about 9:30 a.m., when a semi-truck became disabled while traveling in the middle lane of the highway. A second truck then rear-ended the stopped 18-wheeler, resulting in the second semi bursting into flames.
The second truck driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
The first truck driver was not reported as hurt.
The collision caused the westbound lanes of the interstate to be closed until the afternoon.
