NEDERLAND, TX – Two people were taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Nederland, near Port Arthur, this morning, according to the Port Arthur News.
The accident happened on US-69 near Spurlock Road at about 11 a.m. when a 2014 Dodge van, driven by Groves man Timothy Labbit, 27, rear-ended a 2013 Cadillac which had slowed down due to traffic.
This led to a chain reaction, with the Cadillac being pushed into a 2019 Toyota SUV, driven by 61-year-old Beaumont woman Tara Butler, which then collided with a 2020 Honda. The Honda was then pushed into the rear of a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck.
Labbit and Butler were taken to area hospitals with undisclosed injuries.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
