Narrative
CLAY CO., TX – A three-vehicle crash along the highway in south-eastern Clay County killed a 16-year-old on Friday.
The incident happened on the southbound side of US-287 just south of Bellvue.
Police say that a southbound Chevy Malibu veered into the shoulder and collided with the rear of a Volvo hauling a trailer. This initial crash caused the Malibu to rotate and hit the rear of an 18-wheeler.
A teen passenger from the Chevy died at the scene of the accident.
Medics transported the driver of the Chevy to the hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
