BRYAN, TX – A single mother was hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near Harvey Mitchell Parkway last week in Bryan, according to information from KBTX.

The crash happened on Leonard Road (FM 1688) near Harvey Mitchell Pkwy (FM 2818) at around 1 a.m., as 31-year-old Jessica Navarro was walking home from work at the course following its grand opening.

She was then struck from behind by the driver of a black Chevrolet Camaro or Malibu who may have been traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver then fled the scene.

Navarro, a single mother of three children, then attempted to crawl back home, despite being about two miles away. A passing couple finally stopped to render aid, and Navarro was taken to the hospital.

Her leg was broken in multiple places and her ankle was injured due to the crash. She is expected to recover.

Authorities continue to search for the hit-and-run driver and to investigate the cash.

There is a GoFundMe page set up to assist Navarro with expenses as she recovers.
