10-month-old twins killed in fiery car accident in Jim Wells County

ORANGE GROVE, TX (JIM WELLS COUNTY) – Two infant twins were killed after their mother suffered a seizure while driving, leading to a fiery collision in Orange Grove this weekend, according to KHOU.

The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon near Orange Grove, located about 36 miles northwest of Corpus Christi, on southbound Jennifer Loop, when a mother experienced a seizure. Her foot pressed onto the accelerator, and the vehicle collided with a fence. As her foot was on the accelerator, the back wheels caught fire.

A neighbor was able to get the mother and her 5-year-old child from the burning wreckage.

The bystander was unable to rescue two 10-month-old twins also in the burning car, and the babies were pronounced dead at the scene.

The mother and her 5-year-old were not reported as injured.
