Woman dead, multiple injured after driver runs stop sign in Robstown

ROBSTOWN, TX – A woman was killed and multiple others were injured after a driver ran a stop sign in Robstown on Wednesday evening, according to KIII TV.

The crash occurred near the intersection of County Road 44 and FM 24 Road at 5:49 p.m., after the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu failed to yield at a stop sign. A Ford F-150 pickup truck then crashed into the driver’s side of the Malibu.

42-year-old Robstown woman Maria Socorro Lopez was taken to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

Two passengers in the Malibu were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The three occupants of the F-150 were treated at the scene.
