DALLAS, TX – A 21-year-old woman was killed in Dallas this weekend after being run over by a man whose romantic advances she had rejected, according to reports from NBC DFW.

The accident happened in the 2800 block of McKinney Avenue at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

21-year-old Fort Worth resident Jasmine Hassan and a friend were leaving a bar when they were approached by a man in his early 20s who was operating a white Chevrolet Camaro. He reportedly became aggressive after she rejected him when he asked for her number. The two began to argue, and the situation became physical, with Hassan reportedly leaning through the window of the Camaro.

The driver then accelerated while Hassan was still leaning inside, and she was knocked to the ground. He ran over her, then fled the scene.

Hassan’s friend India Porter, who held her friend as she took her last breath, stated that the driver deliberately accelerated over the victim’s head.

Porter described Hassan, who dreamed of owning her own nail salon one day, as “the sweetest person in the world,” and as a person who could light up a room.

Authorities continue to search for the driver at this time. The Camaro was described as dirty and as having damage to the front of the vehicle.

A GoFundMe has been started for expenses related to Hassan’s funeral.
