3 people killed in series of crashes on North Central Expy in Richardson

RICHARDSON, TX – Three people were killed in a series of crashes involving two motorcycles, a semi-truck, and multiple passenger cars on the North Central Expressway in Richardson early this morning.

According to information from NBC DFW, the crash happened at around 5 a.m. in the 3700 of the expressway, when a Suzuki motorcycle and a Honda motorcycle collided.

The two motorcyclists were thrown from their vehicles and landed in the roadway. They were then taken to the hospital, where one of the motorcyclists was later pronounced dead.

The driver of a Toyota sedan and a tanker truck attempted to avoid colliding with the wreckage of the motorcycles, and then crashed into each other.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not reported as injured.

A third collision occurred in the 2000 block of the expressway at about 6 a.m., as police were investigating the first two.

The crash happened when the driver of a Honda Accord changed from the left lane to the HOV lane, and then collided with a Toyota pickup truck. The impact sent both vehicles into a Honda Civic in the left lane.

The driver of the Accord was taken to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead.

Authorities continue to investigate the crashes at this time.
