Narrative
DALLAS, TX – A single-vehicle crash in Old East Dallas on Friday claimed the lives of two people, including a young child, and left a third person seriously injured.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of East Grand Avenue, near Tenison Park, at approximately 2:45 a.m. Following their investigation, it was determined that a gray 2007 Mercury Milan was traveling at a high rate of speed before it jumped the curb and struck a tree.
Police reported that the driver, identified as 25-year-old James Bernard III, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An infant and a 22-year-old female passenger were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, the infant died at the hospital a short time later.
