Dallas man dies in single-vehicle crash on Garland Rd

DALLAS, TX – A man died in a car accident on the 9900 block of Garland Road on Saturday after losing control of his vehicle.

According to NBC DFW, the accident happened on Oct. 9 just after midnight. The victim was identified as 56-year-old Mark Blanton.

Blanton was heading south on Garland Rd in a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado. He swerved left to pass a slower car, crossed the center median, and crashed into trees on the other side of the road. The truck swerved to the right again and flipped, coming to a stop in the northbound lanes.

Blanton was pronounced dead at a hospital. No one else was injured.
