Motorcyclist killed in early-morning accident near Addison area

ADDISON, TX – A motorcyclist was killed after he struck a curb and crashed north of Addison early yesterday morning, according to NBC DFW.

The accident occurred in the 17700 block of Vail Street at 1:38 a.m., when 52-year-old motorcyclist Rolland Whitt, Jr. was unable to properly round a curve in the roadway.

The motorcycle went off the side of the street and hit a curb, causing Whitt to lose control of the vehicle. He crashed in the driveway of an apartment building nearby.

Whitt was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries hours later.

No other people were reported as hurt.
