North Texas tow truck driver hit and killed by suspected DUI driver

DALLAS, TX – A tow truck driver was hit and killed while working on the 8100 block of LBJ Freeway on Monday night, police say.

According to NBC DFW, the victim was identified as 35-year-old Garry McGee. McGee was hooking up a car to his tow truck around 9 p.m. on Aug. 30 when a suspected drunk driver hit him.

The impact of the collision knocked McGee off the overpass and onto the roadway below. He died at the scene.

The suspect, 35-year-old Denise Chantel Alford, is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter.
