One dead, child and driver injured in suspected DUI accident in east Dallas

DALLAS, TX – A driver was killed, and two people, including a 10-year-old child, were injured in a suspected DUI accident in east Dallas this weekend.

According to NBC DFW, the crash happened on Ferguson Road and Joaquin Drive at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, when the driver of a red Chevrolet Tahoe collided with the left side of a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The impact sent the Ford off the side of the road and into a yard. The Tahoe went across the median, and then collided with a residence nearby.

The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.

A 10-year-old child riding in the Tahoe sustained a possible arm fracture and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Tahoe’s driver, thought to have been under the influence at the time, was taken to the hospital with head lacerations. He now is facing possible charges of intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.

The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
