IRVING, TX – One person was injured after a truck driver reportedly attempted to beat an oncoming train in Irving on Monday evening, according to CBS DFW.
The crash happened on North MacArthur Boulevard, between the West Irving and Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Stations at about 5:30 p.m., as the driver of a truck attempted to drive across the tracks before an oncoming train.
The truck became trapped beneath the barrier arms, and the train smashed into the box trailer, which was luckily empty at the time.
One person on the train reported minor injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
