Pedestrian dead after being run over by suspected drunk driver in NW Dallas

DALLAS, TX – A pedestrian was fatally run over by a suspected drunk driver in an accident also involving a box truck in northwest Dallas on Friday night, according to NBC DFW.

The collision happened on Northwest Highway westbound, near Community Drive, at about 9 p.m., as a woman was sitting on the median.

The allegedly drunk driver of a Kia Sorrento then lost control of his vehicle and crashed into her, before then striking a box truck that was stopped at a nearby traffic light.

The pedestrian died as a result of the crash.

The suspected drunk driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

He is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
