Pedestrian severely injured in early-morning hit-and-run in North Dallas

DALLAS, TX – A pedestrian was severely injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in North Dallas early Friday morning, according to reporting from FOX 4 News.

The crash happened in the 9700 block of Forest Lane, near Oakshire Place and east of I-635, at about 12:30 a.m., when a man crossing the street was hit by the driver of a silver, four-door Chevrolet. The driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Authorities later identified the driver as 30-year-old Christian Gutierrez and took him into police custody. He is facing a charge of leaving an accident involving serious bodily injury.
