Semi-truck carrying 40,000 lbs of bananas crashes on I-35

DALLAS, TX – 40,000 pounds of bananas were tossed onto the freeway after a semi-truck overturned in Northwest Dallas on Monday morning.

According to Fox 4 News, the driver lost control of the truck while traveling on I-35E near the  I-635 interchange at about 2 a.m. The trailer then detached from the cab an slid down an embankment.

Fortunately, the truck driver was not seriously hurt. However, the roadway was shut down for sometime while cleanup crews worked at the scene.

Police say wet road conditions may have been a factor in the crash.
