Two young women and dog killed, two others hurt in suspected DUI wrong-way crash

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – A 21-year-old, a 19-year-old, and a dog were killed in a wrong-way accident today in the Grand Prairie area, according to CBS DFW.

The crash occurred in the 2300 block of Highway 161, where 23-year-old Yasmin Olvera reportedly was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway.

She then collided with a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Joshua Budai.

Two women in Budai’s vehicle, 19-year-old Esmeralda Rauda and 21-year-old Valentina Nerea, died at the scene. A dog riding in the vehicle was also pronounced dead.

Budai was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening wounds.

Olvera, who is suspected of having been under the influence, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

She is likely facing two charges of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
