1 dead after train vs pedestrian crash in downtown El Paso

EL PASO, TX — A male pedestrian was killed in a train collision Saturday, July 16, near El Paso Museum of Art in downtown El Paso, reports KVIA.

El Paso Police responded to the scene on El Paso Street near East Franklin Avenue, shortly after 1:26 p.m.

It was unclear why the man was in the area, but authorities said the victim was on the railway tracks and appeared to have seen the train approaching prior to being hit.

An investigation was in progress, but at this time, no foul play is believed to have been involved.

As of this writing, the department has not released further information.
