1 dead after two-vehicle accident on I-10 in NW El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to KTSM, one person was killed early Monday morning in a collision that injured another on Interstate 10 near northwest El Paso.

El Paso Police responded to the scene on the westbound interstate at South Resler Drive, in the Sunland Park North area. The crash was first reported shortly after 2:30 a.m.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but a dark-colored pickup truck with serious front-end damage was observed at the scene. A Ford Mustang also appeared to have sustained significant damage, including a severely smashed rear-end.

Police confirmed one person died from their injuries at the scene.

One other patient was transported to an area hospital. No updates on their condition have been shared at this time.

Officials closed all westbound lanes at Sunland Park Drive as crews responded to the site.

The roadway was projected to stayed blocked for a few hours as EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigators also responded.

An investigation into the cause of the crash was in progress.
